6 Months of Torture

 Saturday, May 19, 2012

6 MONTHS

I’ve tried to stay calm but I give up.
I always avoid doctor, medicine, waiting room and hospital smell
but there is A THING that forces me to face that cold place monthly.

I’ve got pain in my stomach at the first day of my period.
Even if I consume the herbal medicine up to three bottles a day, it doesn’t work.
Screw you advertisement!

It takes months, ‘till January 2012,
“I have to visit the doctor, the pain is killing me”
Waiting for hours in a room with those pregnant women and their unique smell is a torture.
Give me my youth back!!!

“I need to get therapy for 6 months”
I don’t care about the injection.
I do care about the bills.

Doctor: “It can’t be totally healed by the therapy, listen…this is a GOD secret. After having a baby, you are free from the disease. Do you have a boyfriend? I believe you have one because you are a university student. he he he...”

having a baby is not that simple doc... -_-

What the….
The worst part is… I have to sit and wait in-that-killer-waiting-room.
I don't like it and everything in it!

THE 40th DAY

THE 40th DAY

A dying man needs to die, as a sleepy man needs to sleep, and there comes a time when it is wrong, as well as useless, to resist. Stewart Alsop

Been busy this week but I’ve got something precious.
I am Indonesian with Javanese culture. I was born in Pekanbaru which is a place of Malay people. Growing up and having friends here make me a stranger in my own culture, Javanese. Yep, both of my parents speak Javanese. I understand what they are talking about but I’m not sure if I can utter the same language. There’s a special accent in producing Javanese words.

           Non Javanese : Apa kabar?
           Javanese         : Apha Khabar?

Do you see the difference?

My grandfather was passed away about 40 days ago. As a good Javanese, my parents invited people to gather and pray for his soul in the 40th day after his death. We are Catholic and this month is May, a month of the Virgin Mary, we all prayed rosary together inside my house.

We were busy all day. Starting in the morning my Buk’de (auntie) and Mbak (elder sister) cooked the food for the pray event.
What kind of food? Indonesian cuisine of course

Here is a special story :  Before his day, my grandfather ordered his children to cook “nasi gurih”
(the rice that is steamed with coconut milk) for his 40th memorial day.

These are pictures of our cuisine :

There is also a tradition of delivering “nasi berkat” (blessing rice) to the neighbours .
These are the pictures of it:
first, put the vegetables, "kerupuk," and "lauk-pauk"
in the plastic to make it more hygienist and easy to set
second, put "nasi gurih" and all in the "besek"
now "nasi berkat"is ready to deliver to the neighbors

I proud to be an Indonesian
I proud to be a Javanese
I proud to be a Catholic
I proud of my parents who save the tradition

Family traditions counter alienation and confusion.
They help us define who we are; they provide
something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.

                I’m sick with my lecturers.
Not all of them are annoying, but mostly are.
It was raining…. As a good student, I arrived at the lovely campus in my wet shirt.
I ran fast and touched down the class.

FLASH BACK

Saturday is a special day.
It’s dedicated for my Japanese class after a full week I’m busy with those English classes.
Well, I enjoy this class because there is no pressure before-while-after study.

I used to learn Japan in High School and I loved it. The sensei was kind to me because (maybe) she knew that I was really enthusiast in her every class. She told me her story when she has visited Japan. She said that SAKURA was so damn pretty.

And disaster came in my sophomore!

Madame XXX entered the class and said .. comment allez-vous?
WHAT??
WHERE was MY OHAYOU GOZAIMASU???

The headmaster changed it became le français
Yeah, honestly I forget how to write France correctly hehehe so I beg your forgiveness baby. Kiss!

At first I enjoyed it because it made me thought that I was SEXY when I produced France words from my mouth. Hahahaha
Week by week felt like living hell.
Confused, hard, horrible … Hands Up! Give Up!
Oh Eiffel tower I’m in love with you but not your language.
Every time I see people (who wasn’t born beneath the Eiffel tower) speaks France I say: OMG she/he is must be a genius.

Now I have a chance. I am learning Nihon go.
Wish I visited Japan one day, saw the fabulous sakura, and met RUKI-sama .

ミュージック

Music and oxygen are the same, we can’t live without it
There is a part in a movie :
B  :  “Do you like music?”
G :  “Do you like breathing?”
Music  is our primary need, isn’t it?

Nah, I have uniqueness in selecting music
I like to hear music which I don’t understand the lyric is about
I used to hear English song when I was in kindergarten and elementary
Without having many vocabularies, I keep trying to find out the meaning
It helped me to learn English

Nowdays , I’m quite interested with those Japanese and Korean music
I even don’t know how to read Hangul, Kanji or whatever the names are
But I like it
Seems like a new discovery
Feel so pleased in a time I understand the meaning of the lyrics

These are two songs which lyrics and melody I like the most
I took the reff only

Big Bang / 빅뱅
Haru Haru  /

Dorabojimalgo tteonagara tto nareul chatjimalgo saragara

The Next Uniform

 Saturday, January 14, 2012

Time flies when we are having fun
 Another year is gone
People is getting older
I am also getting mature
The 5th semester
I felt a little bit shock today,
I’ve got a committee’s uniform
Maybe this will be my last activity as a committee in my lovely campus
I’ll give my best this year
Next semester will be harder and harder

I miss the days whenever me as a committee
They need me to start the engine
even thought I’m just a tiny source of energy
Juniors and seniors help each other
Just shout: “I need a hand!”
People around will come and help
How beautiful..

Mmmmm, the pink committee uniform
Bad girl gone good (whahaha)
I’ll throw my T-shirt and sneakers on that day
I’ll wear my pink ultra-formal uniform
Just watch how good I‘ll wear it
...
I even didn’t realize that I can fell this feeling
The graduation is closer, isn’t it ?
